Extra-curricular by a strict definition means “outside of the curriculum,” but at St. John Vianney the reality is that our activities-rich environment is co-curricular as it enhances the deep learning that is taking place in the classroom.  The list of co-curricular opportunities is growing rapidly, so check this page often for updates.

Currently we offer the following activities:

School Choir

Open to students in first through eighth grades.

School Play

Open to all students, Pre-K through eighth grade. Practice schedule varies based on student role (cast, crew, etc.).  Auditions are scheduled to take place in December, with a Spring performance date.

Story and Activity Hour

Open to students in Pre-K4 through second grade.

Student Government

Student Council officers and representatives are chosen by their peers to represent the student body and elected to lead our school in following our mission of serving others.  Students in fifth through eighth grade are eligible to participate.

Mad Scientists

This club is open to students in 1st through 5th grades to perform Science demonstrations and hands-on experiments.

Students in 5th though 8th grade compete in public-speaking events with other students from the diocese.

Science Olympiad

Students in 6th though 8th grade prepare in 21 different Science-related events and compete with other schools every spring at the regional competition.

Board Game Bonanza

Fitness Club

Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to come increase physical fitness through cardio and strength building activities each week.
