PTP – Parents and Teachers in Partnership
St. John Vianney Catholic School is proud to have a PTP (Parents and Teachers in Partnership), which focuses on fundraising efforts throughout the school year to support the school’s mission.
Typically, the PTP hosts the following fundraisers each year:
*Smart Card Sales – Every July/August, the school sells Smart Cards for Sumner and the surrounding counties. These cards are valid for one year (August 1 – July 31) and feature discounts and many local businesses.
*Spaghetti Supper – This event is held annually in August and is a wonderful occasion full of good food and fellowship where families catch up after summer vacation, and new families are welcomed to SJV.
*Fun Run – Each September, students ask friends and family members for pledges, and then the students run laps in the gym to raise money. The event is always full of fun and school spirit, and classes compete to raise the most money.
*Scholastic Book Fair – Held twice per year (in the fall and in the spring), the Scholastic Book Fair offers families the opportunity to add books to their home libraries, while raising “Scholastic Dollars” to be used by the faculty to purchase books and other materials for their classrooms.
*Chili Cook Off – The annual kick off to Catholic Schools Week in January, the Chili Cook Off is another event where families come together for food and fellowship, as well as a bit of friendly competition. Our panel of judges award the best and spiciest chilis, and the crowd votes for their favorite as well. There is even a dessert competition for the students.
The PTP wants all parents and teachers to be involved! The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8 at 1:30 pm in the school library. All are encouraged to attend!
