Happy New Year, Pre-K!
Welcome to week 21 of school! We just counted 86 days of school today! Can you believe the year is almost half over?!?!? And…in just a few short days, we’ll be celebrating 100 DAYS OF LEARNING! If all goes well, we should be celebrating our 100th Day of School on January 30th. I just can’t wait to celebrate that milestone with these little ones. They have grown so much, both academically and physically, since that very first day in August. Some days I can’t believe their capabilities! They show or teach me something new each day. That’s definitely one of the best things about teaching…getting to learn right along with your students.
We are officially back to our old routine. The students made a nice transition back into school last week, but I could tell they were very tired and still adjusting from break. This is our first 5 day week of school, since Christmas Break, and we will be working hard in and out of the classroom. Here is an overall look of the week:
Monday – CIA meeting @ 6:00
Tuesday –Box Top Collection
Our first Box top collection of 2017 is on Tuesday, January 10th.
Send in your box tops in a labeled envelope/baggie with your child’s name and grade on it and we’ll do the rest. Don’t forget to save your holiday clippings!
Wednesday – Report Cards Due back to school – AND – Library (please remember to send books)

SOUPER CROCK-POT COOK-OFF
(in lieu of the Chili Cook Off)
Sunday, January 29th from 12-2pm in the social hall. Think you have a winning soup or chili – submit a batch for tasting and see if you’re right! Just want to hang out, eat some great soup and chili, and see who has the right stuff? Bring a covered dish for everyone to share and come on down! Information about this “souper” event is in your child’s Wednesday folder (1/4/17).
I hope everyone had a restful holiday break. I hope that you were able to spend time with those near and dear to you, as well as those who are far away.
Have a great week!
