Food Bank Donation Day #1- November 16th

Don’t forget that the first donation day for Sumner County Food Bank is on November 16th.  If you are participating, make sure you are looking for opportunities for your child to earn money to donate.  Any amount you can give will help those in need during the Thanksgiving season.

Pre-K is having a Pumpkin Day

To follow up our field trip to the pumpkin patch the Pre-K is having a Pumpkin Day on Thursday, October 20th. We will compare, contrast and describe the differences and similarities between orange and white pumpkins then investigate how to design a face for the pumpkins and learn how to cut a pumpkin safely. We will also investigate how to plant pumpkin seeds and make pumpkin cookies while the students investigate the different measuring tools used for baking. Finally we will talk about Halloween safety will painting a trick or treat bag.

Pre-K visited the pumpkin patch at Bottom View Farm

We visited the pumpkin patch to observe, explore and describe the life cycle of the pumpkin plant. When we visited the field we looked at the pumpkin plant to see the different stages then we picked a pumpkin to bring home. The Pre-K had a great time at the pumpkin patch. Thanks to all the parents who went with us!
