Start studying for Vocabulary Test 3

Students in 5th-8th grade were given their Vocabulary Mneumonics and Root Word sheets for their test on Tuesday, September 20th.  They should study for a few minutes each night so they are prepared for the test.

Showing our appreciation

Students from SJV spent the day learning about and remembering 9-11.  After watching a video, discussing the events, and sharing a prayer, students released balloons to show their appreciation.  Students tagged the balloons so if someone found them they could respond to the school to let us see how far their show of appreciation had spread.   Our gratitude goes out to those who have served and continue to serve this great country.  God Bless the USA!

Greek Vases

The seventh grade did a wonderful job on their Greek vases.  They look beautiful!  Next, they will be creating an anamorphic drawing inspired by the Renaissance masters.

Remembering 9-11

This poem was submitted by Corinne Wehby.  It was written for the men and women who lost their lives and family on 9-11

Planes, Planes

We know their names

Designed for flying

Not for dying

Not according to the men

Who attacked on 9-11

A sad day it was

And horrid, because

They all went down

With so many frowns.

Now, ten years later

We killed the hater

But death still remains

In that Pennsylvania plain

And fear still stands

on the Pentagon’s lands

Both are found

In those New York grounds…

But now we are stronger.
