P.E. Personal Fitness Evaluation

Next week (Sept. 27) in P.E., we will begin a “Personal Fitness Evaluation.”  Each student will have their own chart, and I will record their times, distances and amounts.  We will have the evaluation on the last week of each month.  This will not be a competition.  I want the students to strive to do better for themselves.  The students should see improvement as they become stronger.

Silly Science Sentences

Here are a few of the silly sentences the 5th grade came up with to remember the order of classification for living  things.

“Kids play cricket on Fanny’s gardening shoes.” -Claire Wehby

“King Pie Crust ordered fat gummy shakes.” -Layne Garder

What has been happening in Math?

In math class we have been working hard to master division. Our focus has been on long division and our divisibility rules. We will be having a quiz on Monday, September 19 over these concepts. Just a reminder that students who have their divisibility rules memorized by Monday will be rewarded on their quiz!
