2nd Grade Topics of Study

Religion:  Chapter 17  Asking for Forgiveness

We are preparing for our First Reconciliation which is on  Monday, November 28 at 7 p.m.

Math: Test on Tuesday, October 25

Please study flashcards Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.  Thanks!

Spelling:  Test on Friday, October 28 over long a  and long ewords.

The Red Reading folder will continue to come home on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednedays.  Thank you so much for helping with our reading!  As with math flashcards, we will not write this in our agendas, but please remember to work on this at home.

Language:  Capitalization of months, days of the week, states, cities, countries, and titles such as Mr., Mrs., and Dr.

A “study guide” will come home on Monday.  It does not need to be sent back to school-for your reference only.  Test on Friday, October 28

Choir Practice

Don’t forget Monday, October 24 is the next choir practice from 3:30-4:10.  Please come and share your voice with us!  We are working on a song for the Veteran’s Day assembly.

Food Bank Donation Day #1- November 16th

Don’t forget that the first donation day for Sumner County Food Bank is on November 16th.  If you are participating, make sure you are looking for opportunities for your child to earn money to donate.  Any amount you can give will help those in need during the Thanksgiving season.

Choir

It’s not too late to join our choir!  It is open to second through eighth grade.  We are currently practicing a song we hope to sing for the Veterans at our assembly on November 11.  Come share your voice with us!

Next practices:  Monday, October 24 & Monday, November 7

Practices are in the second grade classroom with Mrs. Maluchnik from 3:30-4:10.

 

Grade 2 Topics of Study

Religion:  Chapter 7  God Gives us His Laws: The Ten Commandments

Math: Test on Tuesday

 Remember to keep studying the fact flashcards at home.  You can break them up into groups like sums of 11’s and 12’s.  Please practice Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.  We won’t write this in the agenda anymore as it is getting too crowded.

Spelling:  Test on Friday
