Catholic Schools’ Week Was a Success!

As busy as this week was, first grade had an awesome time celebrating our Catholic School!

  • Monday started off with a no uniform day, free ice cream, extra recess and no homework! The students certainly felt appreciated after a day like this!

  • SJV has the best parents! Even though we gave it a good try, one day wasn’t enough to show how much we love and appreciate our parents! Thank you for blessing us with the opportunity to teach your children!

  • Many of our students proudly represented our school at the Bishop’s Mass at the Cathedral in Nashville.
  • The biggest event of the day was when the faculty and staff defeated the 8th grade class at the annual volleyball game! First time in the school’s history that the teachers have won. Look out next year’s 8th grade class! We have tasted victory!

  • Thank you to all the students and parents that made this day so special! The brunch was delicious, and it was a rare treat to be able to enjoy this meal together!

  • We loved spending time with our grandparents and loved ones! Thank you for coming and ending our week in such a special way!

Grandparent’s Day 2016

It’s finally here! Next week we will be celebrating Catholic School’s Week here at SJV! This is a very special week for all those children, who have the privilege of receiving a Catholic School Education, to celebrate their academics, selves, friends, family, and their school. Each day is devoted to a different theme or happening. One of the bigger events is Grandparent’s (Special Person’s) Day.  We will be celebrating this on February 5th, beginning at 8:00, with an all school Mass. Please DO NOT let the name narrow the chances of a student not participating. We here at SJV understand the different dynamics of families. We would love for each child to feel included and participate in this beautiful day. If a grandparent is not available, please consider asking another family member or close family friend. It should also be noted that, the day is a half-day with NO aftercare. Students will leave by 11:30 that day, with their grandparents, special person, or parent.

If you have not turned in your RSVP, please do so by Friday, January 29th! If you have misplaced the copy sent home last week, you can find one below or as an attachment in this week’s newsletter.
