7th grade Art Project

boys painting cross class art project cross Christmas cross regular The seventh graders have been working really hard to complete their art project for the upcoming Harvest Festival.  They have painted two wooden cross door hangers for the event.  One has a Christmas theme, and the other can be used for every season.  Please stop by the office to see them and place a bid.  The students have also signed the crosses, so they will be a great memory for years to come.

Announcing the 9th Annual St. John Vianney Dinner &Auction
Land of Oz
“There’s No Place like SJV”

Celebrating 10 Years of Excellence

Saturday, April 20th
School Social Hall/Gym

Are you new to SJV Parish or School? ….. If you are, or even if you are not, this informational sheet might help. The annual auction is the parish and schools largest fundraising event of the year. This year, we are celebrating our school’s 10th anniversary. We need your help to make this fundraiser successful! Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this fun and exciting event. More information will be published in the parish bulletin and school folders/website in the coming weeks.

Auction….The social hall is lined with long tables full of over two hundred silent auction items, plus 10 to 15 live auction items. Auction items are donated by local businesses and school & parish families. The value ranges from $20 to thousands. School families who donate a silent auction item(s) will be rewarded with an out of uniform day for their child.

***Currently, we are in need of Volunteers to be on the procurement team, asking businesses for donations. Carol Siebert is the chair of this committee. Call her to offer your help @482-7602

Decorations…. The social hall/gym will be decorated to resemble The Land of Oz. This is a large undertaking with set up beginning the Thursday before the event. Amanda Gabers and Carla Wehby are co-chairs of the decorating committee. Both will be asking for donations of decorating materials and for your volunteer assistance to help make it all come together. Contact Amanda @ 419-9944 with questions or to sign up on their team. Decorating workshop dates will be announced soon.

Dinner …..Appetizers and full gourmet menu is included. A full cash bar is also available. Our amazing Chef Bernie Vaughn is planning another great meal for our themed event. If you love to prepare food, come volunteer in the kitchen with Bernie the week of the auction.

SJV Alumni ……As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the school, we would like former graduates to serve appetizers and bus tables during the event. If you can help, please contact Susan Gerstner @ 604-3338.
Tickets…. The social hall seats 350. Tickets are $50 per person, or reserved premier tables for 10 (includes wine and VIP table up front) are available for $600. Invite friends & family. This is a community event! Let’s make this a record attendance year. Tickets will go on sale the first week of April.

Other Volunteers Needed…. The success of this annual parish/school event is dependent on the volunteer help of everyone. Help is needed before, during and after the event. Volunteering can be accomplished after work hours for both men & women!

The night of the event, volunteers help direct guests to tables, check bid sheets to be sure they are correct, help with special drawings and activities, close out the bidding tables, give winning bidders their items, etc.

On Sunday afternoon following the event, we need people to help clean up the social. In addition, volunteers are needed with the clerical paperwork for two – three weeks following closeout.

Any questions? Want to volunteer? Would you like to make a donation? Call Carol Siebert @ 482-7602 or Susan Gerstner @ 604-3338.
