Newsletter for the week of September 27-October 3, 2017

Letter from the Principal
Dear SJV Families:

Fall is officially here and while the weather is not much cooler yet, the month of October brings us to the end of first quarter, and a well-deserved Fall Break.  With just 6 school days left in first quarter, please make sure to remind your students to work hard all the way through until next Thursday.  We look forward to meeting with you after Fall Break during parent teacher conferences to discuss your child’s progress during the first nine weeks, but if you have questions or concerns prior to that, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

The Fun Run last week was hot, but a ton of fun!  Thank you so much to the many volunteers who helped out last Friday!  Also, a big thank you to Mrs. Krampotich for chairing this event, and to the Morris family for their sponsorship of our t-shirts.  The students have been excited to compete as classes for the big gold trophy, so please make sure you send in the money your child has collected in pledges as soon as possible so it counts toward your classroom total!  Mrs. Krampotich has extended the deadline to next Wednesday, October 4, in case you need additional time to collect a few extra dollars toward your classroom goal.

I am so thankful for our wonderful students and families and their many contributions to SJV!

Have a great week!

God bless,

Jennifer McCormick

MORNING DROP OFF SAFETY   While we know all students are excited to come to school each morning, we ask that they remain inside their cars until a teacher opens the gym doors and students may safely go inside.  Please refrain from dropping your child off at the door unsupervised prior to 7:25 am.  Thank you for your cooperation, as our number one priority is keeping every student safe!

SPIRIT DAY FRIDAY Show your WILDCAT spirit and support one of our student organizations here at SJV!  The last Friday of every month, students, faculty & staff who bring $1 may dress in any SJV t-shirt or sweatshirt, with jeans (or school khaki shorts) and tennis shoes, with the proceeds benefitting one of our school activities.  The first Spirit Day Friday will be September 29, and your $1 will help our FORENSICS team pay for scripts and some of its entry fees in diocesan competitions.  Everyone is also asked to write a short prayer for the organization of the month.  Those prayers will be given to them so they know how much they are supported here in the SJV community.  Go WILDCATS!

FUN RUN COLLECTION   Don’t forget to send in your fun run money!  We are extending the collection period through until next Wednesday, October 4 for your convenience.

Box Tops for Education:  Submission Dates: October 2nd – October 5th

Welcome back to school, parents! My name is Terri Jackson and I’m thrilled to be our school’s Box Tops for Education™ Coordinator.  Clipping Box Tops is an easy way to help earn cash for our school. Each one is worth 10¢ for our school! Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products. All you have to do is clip them and send them to school. Last school year, we earned $403.80 for our school from Box Tops. This school year, our goal is to earn $1,000.00. All you need to do is place the Box Tops in a baggie with the student’s name and class. We will be giving a class prize for the highest percentage and an individual prize for the top collector in each class! For more information on Box Tops, including a list of participating products, go to Be sure to sign up as a member (it’s free!) so you can check out our school’s earnings details and get access to coupons and bonus offers. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help make our school’s Box Tops for Education™ program a huge success this year.
