Newsletter for the week of September 6 – 12, 2017

Letter from the Principal
Dear SJV Families:

I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing, fun Labor Day weekend!  The school year is in full swing now, with the end of the first interim coming up this Friday.  Our athletic team seasons are well underway, and the routines of the school year should be back to normal.  This is a great time to check in with your child and see how things are going.  If either you or your child are uncertain about something, please follow up with your teacher.  Communication is key, and all of our teachers are here to help you and your child have a successful year.

Today at dismissal time, we kicked off our annual Fun Run, which is the only student-centered school-wide fundraiser at SJV.  In the Wednesday folder, there is information on this great event where students can contact relatives, neighbors, and friends and ask them to sponsor their running/walking, which occurs during the school day on Friday, September 22.  The Fun Run is not just a fundraiser for our school, but a chance for every student to have a fun afternoon full of school spirit and camaraderie.  We would love to achieve 100% participation this year – no pledge is too small.  So please be sure to read the information and encourage your child to join in the fun.

Thank you for your continued support!  Have a blessed week ahead!

God bless,

Jennifer McCormick

WILDCAT WEDNESDAY   Our first “Wildcat Wednesday” of the year will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  Wildcat Wednesday is our way of saying thank you to the students who represent SJV in the community through participating in diocesan sports, forensics, or other activities.  This month students who play on our diocesan football team, the SJV volleyball team, and the SJV cross country team are being recognized.  These students may wear their team jersey (white t-shirt worn under sleeveless jerseys, please) with either blue jeans OR the khaki uniform shorts, along with tennis shoes.  Way to go, Wildcats!
