Look What’s Happening In Kindergarten
Our field trip to the Nashville Sounds baseball game is this Tuesday (hopefully!). Please remember that the students do not need a lunch, but they will need a snack and a drink. Our class is to wear our bright green kindergarten shirts, school shorts, white socks and white tennis shoes. We will let you know of any changes to the trip due to weather as soon as we hear anything.
Thursday is our May Crowning Mass. Each student is asked to bring on a flower to place on the alter for Mary. This can be purchased or cut from the yard/garden. Either is fine.
I hope you were able to come and watch the school’s play “Charlotte’s Web”. The students did a wonderful job!
Here’s what’s happening in the classroom this week.
MATH – This week we will practice basic addition adding 2 and 3, review telling time to the hour and the half hour, review patterns, and review coins and counting money.
RELIGION – This week we will begin to understand who Mary is and why she is important in our faith.
HANDWRITING – This week we will practice all upper case latters.
SCIENCE – This week will finish up our unit on organisms and explore with magnets.
READING – This week we will decode 5 new sight words, attach the long /e/ sound to the letter Ee, demonstrate a simple understanding of plurals, blend and write words. We will also develop an understanding for new vocabulary words, use comprehension strategy clarifying and predicting. Our selection for the week is “Can You See The Wind?”
