What we are doing in Pre-K
Our weeks are getting busier and busier as the end of the school year begins to approach. Please remember to check daily folders every night and Wednesday folders for any important information being sent home. We are getting close to the end of the year and our folders are full of fun things to do.
WE ARE STILL AT WAR – PENNY WARS THAT IS! We are half way through our first week of Penny Wars and things are going great! Remember that all money turned in this week is added to the classroom total. Next week all money added will take away from the totals. Has your class figured out their strategy yet?
SMART KIDS, SAFEKIDS TRAINING April 15TH: Each year the diocese requires that we provide Smart Kids, Safe Kids instruction to our students. Our instruction will take place Tuesday, April 15th. Please complete the permission form in your child’s Wednesday folder and return to the school by Friday.
MATH – This week we are using our ocean manipulatives to compare more and less. We are also working on estimation during circle time. The students love using math in real world problems!
RELIGION – We will begin learning about Holy Week, starting with Palm Sunday. We will be creating palms and singing songs about Jesus’ ride into Bethany.
SCIENCE – This week we worked in our journals recording pictures of our science experiment.
READING – This week Pre-K 4 will start a new unit on the farm. They will be reviewing the letters previously introduced. We will also be working on blending our letter sounds to make words. Pre-K 3 will be working with the letterU. Make sure to bring in a recent 5×7 for a project this week!
HANDWRITING – Pre-K 4 will be working on forming shapes and writing the number 9. Pre-K 3 will be working on writing the letterU.
Have a great week!
