Look What’s Happening In Kindergarten

Well, we are almost finished with our testing.  The students have done a fabulous job too!  I am very proud of all of them.  To reward them for their hard work, we will be having a pizza party for lunch this Tuesday.  If your child does not like pizza, please pack him/her a lunch, for we will be eating the classroom that day.

Out of uniform for the Barnes and Nobel book fair is Monday,  3/10.  If you went to Barnes and Nobel last Wednesday and made a purchase there was an out of uniform pass taped in your child’s daily folder.

If you haven’t signed up yet for the SJV Wildcat 5K its not too lateEarly registration is until March 13.  Don’t miss out!

Spring pictures are this Wednesday, 3/12.  Students may wear there Easter/spring best.  (No jeans, tee shirts, sweats…)

Due to the fact that we are still testing and it is a short week, there will be no homework and no new sight words.  Please continue to read for 10 minutes each night and record it on your reading log.  We are half way there!!!  Only 4 more week to go to earn those baseball tickets!  Keep up the great work.

Here’s whats happening in the classroom this week.

MONDAY – We will hopefully be finishing up with our IOWA testing.

RELIGION – This week we will be focusing on what Lent is and how we can prepare ourselves for the death and ressurection of Jesus.

SOCIAL STUDIES – We will continue with symbols of our country.

READING – This week we will be working with the book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle.  We will retell the story, sequence events, review the days of the week, graph story information, understand the lifecycle of the butterfly, create a paper plate lifecycle, and create a caterpillar.
