Look What’s Happening In Kindergarten

All permission slips and payment for our field trip to the Nashville Children’s Theatre are due this Wednesday morning, November 6.
Here’s what’s going on in the classroom this week.
MATH – This week we will be exploring geoboards, making shapes on a geoboard, placing objects on a real graph, and taking oral assessment 7; sorting and identify the sorting rule.
RELIGION – This week we will begin to discover our own uniqueness through our own special talents. We will discuss and learn about our Baptism.
HANDWRITING – This week we will practice the letter Mm and the letter Ii. We will practice writing the numbers 1-10, and writing our last names.
SOCIAL STUDIES – This week we will begin to understand what Veteran’s Day is and why it is important.
READING/LANGUAGE ARTS – This week we will review previous sight words, decode new sight words, put words together to make declarative sentences, segment compound words into two words, attach the short /i/ sound to the letter Ii, clap out syllables, build complete coherent sentences, and blend word parts to make words. We will also develop an understanding for new vocabulary, understand the difference between fiction and non -fiction writing, and use the comprehension stratigies making connections and cause and effect. We will also continue working on our Fall Color Sight Word Book.
