This Week in 2nd Grade
This week is Red Ribbon Week!
Tuesday: “Put a Cap on It” Wear your favorite hat with regular uniform.
Wednesday: “Sock it to Drugs” Wear crazy socks with regular uniform.
Thursday: Door decorating contest.
Friday: “Wear Red Day!” Wear jeans, red shirt, white socks, and white tennis shoes.
Fall Party is this Friday afternoon. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering.
Reading: We are reading “If You Find a Rock” about different kinds of rocks and what you can do with them. Students may bring in any rock collections or interesting rocks they have found. Vocabulary words are: chain, trace, print, outstretched, and fossil. Test is on Friday.
Spelling: Spelling test is on Friday.

Language Arts: We are learning about different kinds of sentences and their punctuation.
Math: Fact Test on Wednesday over sums of 10 and review facts. Written test on Thursday.
Religion: We are learning about sin and asking for forgiveness.
Science: All the snakes look great! They are hanging up in the hallway. We are continuing to learn about different kinds of animals and animal life cycles. Test will be on Thursday.
Health: Because it is Red Ribbon Week, we will be spending some time talking about how to avoid harmful substances.
