Please continue reading with your child. When your child reads to you he/she is developing his/her vocabulary and building fluency. These extra practice times along with reading in the classroom will help your child become a strong and confident reader.

Reading- Blend, spell and read words that contain /l/, say words that contain initial and final /l/, and build fluency by reading decodable book 15. Replace initial consonant sounds, blend individual sounds, identify and isolate final consonant sounds and blend, spell and read words that contain /o/, say words that contain initial and final /o/, and build fluency by reading decodable book 16. Use table of contents, learn selection vocabulary, and discuss the poem and comprehension strategies Visualizing and Clarifying.

Math-Lesson 31: Coving designs with pattern blocks Pattern block sheet

            Lesson 32: Ordering numbers to 20 Adding 1 to a Number

            Lesson 33: Writing Number Statements for “Some, Some Went Away” stories, Creating Subtraction problem situations.

            Lesson 34: Counting Backwards from 10-1 Adding 1 to a number

Religion- Chapter 5 Lesson three: The Gift of Grace and Chapter 5 Lesson four: Children of God. Chapter 5 review and Quiz 5

Writing- Identify a sentence as a statement. Use capital letter and periods to write a statement.

Handwriting- Workbook page 22 and 23. Revise autobiographies adding detail and a cover.

Social Studies- The students will demonstrate what they have learned in unit 1 All about families.

Reading comprehension- Use clues from a story and prior knowledge to predict what will happen next.

ScienceObserve and discuss the similarities and differences of the data on the growth of the lima beans.
