This Week in 2nd Grade
We met our 8th grade buddies on Friday! We ate some snacks, worked on word puzzles, read books, and got to chat with our new buddies.
Reminders: PE is on Friday. Please remember PE clothes and white shoes.
Reading: This week we are reading “For the Love of Our Earth,” a rhyming fiction poem about how we can take of the environment and each other. Vocabulary words are: litter, engines, dawn, glows, and witness. Test over story and vocabulary will be on Friday.
Spelling: This week’s spelling words are: menu, nose, most, cure, joke, unit, vote, fuse, soda, mule, comb, bugle, total, human, and suppose. Weekly spelling homework is due on Friday. Test is on Friday.
Language Arts: This week we are writing about places for acts of kindness. We are also learning about action verbs. Action verbs will be on our reading test this week.
Math: Adding 2 fact test is tomorrow (Wednesday). Written test is on Thursday.
Religion: We are learning about Adam and Eve this week.
Science: Our plants are still growing! We are continuing to observe and measure our sunflowers, tomatoes, daisies, and poppies. To go along with our story for the week, we will be talking about pollution, recycling, and how to care for the environment.
