This Week in Middle School Math

I look forward to a great year in math! I am very excited for everything we are doing this year. A class syllabus will be sent home this week in Wednesday folders. I am available for extra help every day at recess. Remind students to “meet me at the picnic table” if they are struggling and would like extra help.

Fifth: The first few days of school we will be getting ourselves organized and taking a pretest. This week we will discuss reading numbers, writing numbers in expanded form, comparing numbers, and place value.

Sixth: The first few days of school we will be getting ourselves organized and taking a pretest. This week we will be discussing comparing numbers and estimating.

Seventh: The first few days of school we will be getting ourselves organized and taking a pretest. This week we will be discussing algebraic phrases, expressions, and the concept of a variable.

Eighth: In algebra we will review graphing, the algebraic order of operations, and patterns. This chapter is mainly review.
