Look What’s Happening In Kindergarten!

Happy Mother’s Day to all our fabulous moms!!!!  I hope you all had some wonderful family time this weekend!

Monday will be a very exciting and fun day here at SJV.  Janet, from “Janet’s Planet”, the PBS television show, will be presenting a progam about the soloar system to our students.  We are so very lucky to have Janet presenting at our school, to our students.  It should be a very educational, very fun morning!

As we enter the last 2 weeks of school things are getting very hectic.  Please check folders daily for important info that may be coming home.  Please remember that party money, $2 per child, is due by Wednesday May 22nd.  Here’s what’s going on in the classroom this week.

MATH – This week we will continue with our addition fact practice.  The kiddos are doing a great job!!!   We will also review telling time, patterning, counting money, weighing and comparing, and measuring.

RELIGION – We will continue on from last week with understanding that we can learn to trust God through others.  We will read the Bible story “Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath”.

SCIENCE – We will be introduced to the solar system.  “Janet’s Planet” presentation on Monday!

READING – We will continue with our reading of “Charlotte’s Web”.  We will complete activities that focus on story elements, vocabulary, sequencing, main idea and ABC order.  There will be no more sight words sent home.  Please continue to practice sight words.  Our end of the year sight word assessment will begin on Thursday.

Beginning this Thursday the students will be taking their end of the year assessment.  They are thoroughly prepared and will do a wonderful job!  And if not I’ll just keep them another year!!!LOL 🙂
