Look What’s Happening in Kindergarten
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Congratulations to our second grade friends on making their First Holy Communion. Things are getting very busy with only 17 days of school left. Please make sure to check folders daily for up coming events and information. Here’s what’s happening this week.
MATH – This week we will continue with math facts, adding 2 and 3, review coins and count mixed amounts of money, tell time to the hour and half hour, and pattern making.
RELIGION – This week we will learn to trust in God through others. We will also identify religious articles used in the celebration of mass.
READING – This week we will begin the novel “Charlotte’s Web”. We will learn selection vocabulary, make story predictions, discuss story elements, practice ABC order, and many other activities related to the book.
SOCIAL STUDIES/THEME – To go along with our reading of “Charlotte’s Web”, we will develop a better understanding of the differences between “farm animals” and “zoo animals”. We will discuss specific jobs and duties that farm animals have as compared to what zoo animals do.
HANDWRITING – This week we will practice writing sight words in sentences.
