Look What’s Happening In Kindergarten
Thank you to all the wonderful parents who braved the muddy farm with us on Friday! The kiddos had a great time and were extreemly well behaved. They represented SJV very well. This is a very busy week here at the school, “Gala Week”. Just a reminder that the cafeteria will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week to allow for Gala set up. ALL students must pack a lunch and a drink both days. We will be eating in the classroom. I will be posting pictures from the field trip as well as our class project and basket for the Gala later today. Here’s what’s happening this week.
MATH – This week we will begin focusing on basic math facts. We will be practicing adding one to a number, playing addition relays, reviewing coins, and counting mixed money amounts.
RELIGION – This week we will begin to understand that there is one God and three persons in the one God. We will begin tyo understand that we call the three persons in one God “The Blessed Trinity.
SCIENCE – We will continue with our unit on “living things”.
READING/LANGUAGE ARTS – This week we will review previous sight words, decode and sequence a mini book, produce rhyming words, attach the long /i/ sound to the letter Ii, segment syllables by clapping, review letters and sounds , learn about past tense action words, read and respond to a decodable. We will also begin a new story “Becoming Butterflies”. New sight words will be sent home on Tuesday.
HANDWRITING – This week we will practice writing the numbers 30-50
