Middle School Spanish for the week of 4/8/13

Welcome back!  Only 37 school days left!  I hope everyone is ready to finish the year off with a lot of hard work and dedication to learning!

Here’s what is planned for this week:

5th Grade:  We will finish our work on ser vs. estar on Monday, and begin learning how to tell time in Spanish.

6th Grade:  We are finishing up Unit 5 in the textbook which covers food, shopping, and restaurant vocabulary, as well as the regular present tense conjugations of -er and -ir verbs.  Students will have a test on Unit 5 on Monday, April 15, and received a study guide during class on Monday, April 8.

7th Grade:  We are finishing up Unit 4 in the textbook, which covers winter and summer sports and activities, as well as conjugating -ar verbs in the preterite, the use of direct object pronouns, and the irregular preterite conjugations of the verbs ser and ir.  Students will have a test on Unit 4 on Monday, April 15, and received a study guide during class on Monday, April 8.

8th Grade:  We continue reviewing Spanish I concepts in preparation for the high school placement exam.  We have been working on our conversation skills daily, and will finish going over a practice writing exercise on Monday.  We will also review the verbs ser & estar this week, as well as regular present tense verb conjugations.  Students will have a quiz on what we have reviewed so far (numbers, math, telling time, ser, estar, and present tense verb conjugations) on Friday, April 12.
