This Week in 2nd Grade
Field trip permission slips and money are due this Wednesday November 15.
We have P.E. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students need to bring their P.E. uniforms on these days.
Reading: Starting today, students will be bringing home a red reading folder every Monday-Wednesday. Inside the folder is a reading log and a book for students to read each night. Please read the top of the reading log for more information. We have finished Unit 2: Let’s Explore. We will not have a regular reading test this week. We will have a Benchmark Assessment on Friday. This week we will be reading poems.
Spelling: Spelling words this week are: train, keep, clean, mail, way, mean, read, nail, be, hay. Challenge words are: subway, stream, street.
Language Arts: We are writing reports on our favorite animals. During library tomorrow, students will look for books on their animals and begin making notes.
Religion: Quiz over Chapter 17: Asking for Forgiveness is tomorrow. Students took home a review page today to study. We will begin Chapter 18: Jesus Forgives and learn more about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. First Reconciliation is on December 3rd at 6:30.
Math: This week we will be learning about measuring, adding 10 to any two-digit number, and new addition facts. Fact test over sums of 11 and review facts is on Wednesday. Written test is on Thursday.
Science: We are continuing to learn about the human body including how the heart and lungs work and how we digest food.
