Look What’s Happening In Kindergarten
Thank you to all who came out to cheer on the kiddos at the Fun Run on Friday. Everyone had a great time and showed tons of Wild Cat Spirit!! Our theme this week will be “apples” in honor of Johny Appleseed. I am asking that each student bring in 3 apples (1 red, 1 green, and 1 yellow) by Tuesday September 18th. Thank you!
MATH – This week we will create a graph, identify fewest and most, match a number card to a set of objects, create and read an AB color pattern, read and understand a recipe, and follow step by step directions.
HANDWRITING – This week we will work on the letters Ss and Mm and Aa. We will continue working on our number as well.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We will continue with our comparisons of maps and globes. We will discuss physical characteristics of the earth. Due to students illness last week, address assessment was postponed until this Friday, September 21st.
RELIGION – This week our Bible story will be “The Creation Story”.
READING/LANGUAGE ARTS – This week we will decode 5 new sight words, review previous sight words, sequence story pages, recognize and produce rhyming words, blend word parts to make words, attach the /s/ sound to the letter Ss and the /m/ sound to the letter Mm, learn how words are put together to make declarative sentences. We will also learn how to use the Table of Contents, identify the author and illustrator of a selection, and learn new selection vocabulary. THERE WILL BE A SIGHT WORD ASSESSMENT ON FRIDAY ON ALL 15 WORDS.
