“Your every act should be done with love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Letter from the Principal for the Day:
Dear SJV Families:
My name is Alison Gerstner and I am Principal for the Day. It has been a great experience for me to see all of the children working so hard to learn or to study for exams. I loved going around and giving out rosaries to every student and they admired them so much. After I went around to all the classrooms I went to give out ice cream at lunch and all the kids loved it. They got to decorate the ice cream with sprinkles and syrup. Besides the regular recess that the students get I decided that they could have extra recess because they were working so much. I know that in middle school extra recess doesn’t come very often. So I went also to their extra recess and played capture the flag. I know the teachers evaluate the students but today I got to evaluate the teachers and it was really fun. I never knew so many things can go on around the school that are similar or even the same. The thing that I was excited to do the most was give away a bike. That was the highlight of my day. I loved being Principal and it was a great experience.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2012!!
Please join the faculty and staff of Saint John Vianney in congratulating the Graduating Class of 2012:
We take great pride in our part in helping these bright, gifted students in becoming the wonderful young adults that they are and know that each of them will continue to accomplish great things in their high school careers and beyond!
GODSPEED to the Second Grade and Eighth Grade classes as they receive the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation this week! If you would like to join them in these celebrations of faith, Confirmation will take place tonight at The Cathedral at 7 pm and First Holy Communion at this Saturday’s 4:30 pm Mass.
FIELD DAY HELPERS NEEDED!!
Our annual field day is Thursday, May 24th. This year our event will have an “Olympic” theme in honor of the 2012 Summer Games in London. To make the magic happen we still need 10 more volunteers (parents, grandparents, responsible alumni) to help run the events (2 are needed at each event) so the teachers and students can participate.
All volunteers will need to report to Mrs. Wehby at 7:30 in the gym. The event will end at approximately 11:00 so the children can prepare for the 11:30 dismissal. If you want to be a part of this fun day please contact Christi Kemp in the school office at 230-7048 or email@example.com
WOULD YOU RATHER STAY COOL?
People are needed on Thursday, May 24th – after Field Day to take down all of the students art work and sort it by student and their grade. If you would like to help pleas contact Mrs. Wehby at firstname.lastname@example.org or Christi Kemp at email@example.com let them know if you can help.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON N. WATER AVE
As I am sure you have noticed, North Water Ave. is under construction. It is our understanding that the city will be working on the road from now through the end of summer and will be closed to through traffic during that time. During this time period we will keep the N. Water gate closed so all school traffic should enter through the N. Boyer entrance.
