Fun with Figurative Language

Students in 5th and 6th grade created “literal idioms” as they learned about figurative language.  Students learned about similes, metaphors, hyperboles, idioms, personification, and onotomotopoeia.  They had fun presenting and displaying their creations.  (Pictured above:  Devon Lecave “Chip on your sleeve”, Nicholas Pracht “Spill the Beans”, Nicholas Crump “A Hole in the Wall” and Drew Janes “The Last Straw”)
