4th Grade Book Bag News 4/16/12
A reminder that we have a field trip this week on Thursday to the Frist Center. Students need to pack a sack lunch. Boys should wear pants and may wear a short sleeved shirt and girls should wear their jumpers.
Here’s what we’re studying this week:
Math: Math Test Friday 4/20.We will be rounding to the nearest ten, hundred, and thousand, writing common fractions as decimals and adding, subtracting and multiplying with decimals.
Language Arts: Reading and spelling test Tuesday 4/17. We will review Monday for our reading test on Immigrant Children and begin a short unit on Children’s Stories from other cultures. We will explore children’s stories from around the world, view artwork of children’s stories from around the world and write and illustrate our own children’s story.
Social Studies: We will continue learning the location of the states and their capitals. Test on South Western States Tuesday 4/17 and Retest on the North Eastern states Friday.
Religion: We will continue our study of Joseph following his imprisonment and follow his brothers to Egypt.
Science: Test on Matter Wednesday, 4/18. We will review Monday and Tuesday for our test on Matter and Thursday we will begin a unit on heat.
Computer: We will learn how to create a power point presentation and begin work on our American Cultures presentations.
Library: Choose biography to read. Students will be preparing oral book reports for this book choice due Friday, 4/27.
